MADHOUSE: Stitched Perfection

What happens when the pursuit of perfection creates something that refuses to be controlled? Inspired by the timeless story of Frankenstein, Wild Ones Dance presents MADHOUSE: Stitched Perfection, an original dance production exploring perfectionism, identity, control, and the freedom to move beyond the expectations placed upon us. This story follows The Creator, a brilliant but deeply self-critical artist who has lost the joy of dance in their relentless pursuit of perfection. Never believing they were good enough, The Creator sets out to accomplish the impossible: build the "perfect dancer" by stitching together the greatest qualities and talents of others. And it works. The Creation is technically gifted, expressive and seemingly flawless, everything The Creator believes they could never be. But bringing perfection to life is one thing. Controlling it is another. As The Creator attempts to shape every movement, every choice, and every detail of their masterpiece, something unexpected begins to emerge. The Creation starts to think, feel, and move for themselves… and the stitches begin to unravel. Blending theatrical storytelling with dynamic choreography, this haunting reimagining of a classic tale follows a journey where control collides with individuality, and the pursuit of being flawless threatens to destroy the very joy that inspired the creation in the first place. Perfection was the goal. What comes to life is something entirely different. Early Bird tickets on sale October 16-25, 2026 (limited quantity available) Doors Open: 7:30 PM Show Starts: 8:00 PM

Playlist

Do you still remember every word of every song that ever changed your life? Are you already humming the tune of the first song that really made you cry? Do you still know all of the lyrics that you copied onto the pages of your journal in grade eight? Writer and performer Ivan Coyote has crafted a playlist of stories that sing to us about how they managed to discover a coded but very possible queer future hidden in the music coming out of the AM radio in the kitchen, lurking in their parent’s record collection, and leaking out of the lyrics in their elementary school musical. Combining Coyote’s equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking stories with long-time collaborator Clyde Petersen’s animations, Playlist will have you hitting rewind on your own list of songs that helped shape you.  CREATIVE TEAM Written & Performed by Ivan Coyote  Offer What You Will TicketsOffer What You Will (OWYW) tickets are available for every performance of Playlist. Rat Academy 2: Gnaw and Order

Inspired by Alberta's "Rat-on-Rats" program, Gnaw and Order observes Fingers and Shrimp as they face the provincial crackdown on rodents and Canada's housing crisis. In the midst of a celebration, the duo is interrupted by an eviction notice demanding they leave their home. Devastated, the rats desperately seek jobs, search for rentals, and attempt to put themselves up for adoption. After exhausting their efforts, a second notice is delivered which demands that they leave the province and never return. They subsequently take the province of Alberta to court and find willing audience members to act as legal representatives. The trial forces the rats and the audience to confront the systems that hold power, and ultimately leads them to discover that they will always be home so long as they have each other.
