Plain Language Description
Growing up Gen X isn’t easy. Especially if you’re a Muslim girl in a small BC town, trying to keep it a secret. This one-woman show follows a funny but struggling narrator as she deals with racism, identity, trauma, and being a teenager in the 1980s. Part stand-up, part theatre, it’s a personal and honest story about fighting to be yourself in a world that wants you to fit in. It’s about how we all carry pain, how we’re more alike than we think, and how being a bit messed up might be what makes us human.
