The Muxe in the Snow

A renowned contemporary artist couldn’t buy an Indigenous person for his new piece of art - so he hires one instead: A third-gender Muxe who performs six different scenes that make no sense whatsoever. Six scenes and no plot? Call it avant-garde if I’m white. Call it trauma porn if I’m migrant, non binary and Indigenous.

Plain Language Description
A famous artist hires an Indigenous person for his new art piece, because he couldn’t just buy one. A Muxe (a third-gender person from southern Mexico) performs six scenes that don’t follow a coherent or a clear story. It explores the tension between telling someone’s story and taking it over.
