Sadec 1965: A Love Story
Riding a motorcycle across Vietnam, Flora sets out on a journey that is as physical as it is personal. What begins as an adventure quickly turns into a search—for truth, for meaning, and for a past she never understood.
As she travels through unfamiliar roads, near-misses, and moments of solitude, Flora begins to uncover her father’s history—one shaped by the Vietnam War and marked by love, loss, and survival. The deeper she goes, the more the line between past and present begins to blur.
Sadec 1965 is an award-winning solo performance that brings these stories to life through vivid storytelling and an immersive soundscape. Drawing from real histories and lived experience, the piece moves between continents, generations, and emotional landscapes with striking intimacy.
This is not just a story about war. It is about inheritance—the stories we carry, the silences we grow up with, and the courage it takes to confront them. It is about what it means to return, to listen, and to finally understand.
Raw, immediate, and deeply human, Sadec 1965 invites audiences into a world where the roar of a motorcycle, the echoes of the past, and the search for meaning collide.
In this solo performance, Flora shares a true story about traveling across Vietnam by motorcycle. During her trip, she learns more about her father’s choices during the Vietnam War.
The show weaves together three stories, with repeated back and forth between storylines: her motorcycle journey, her struggles with relationships, and her father’s past.
The performance uses clear storytelling and sound to help the audience imagine the places and events. It is a personal story about family, war, and identity.
