Period Problems
This one-person show invites the audience into an intimate, high-energy ride through hormonal chaos, medical gaslighting, and period problems. From parody songs like “99 Problems (and My Period Is Most of Em’)” to jaw-dropping anecdotes about IUD insertions, trauma, and toxic body standards, Period Problems balances laugh-out-loud moments with gut-punching honesty.
This is not your average theatre show. It’s interactive with live questions, relatable storytelling, unexpected party hats, and crowd calls that turn whispers and giggles into collective catharsis. It’s dramatic, as it unapologetically confronts the emotional toll of chronic illness and the broken healthcare system. It’s visually compelling, featuring live projection art with analog overhead visuals that helps bring the words and action on stage to life. Hilarious, heartbreaking, and deeply human, Period Problems is a visceral, unfiltered celebration of the people who bleed and the stories we share to feel a little bit less alone.
This year Period Problems will be back - Bolder, BIGGER, and BLOODIER.
Period Problems is a one-person show that talks and teaches about what a period (menstruation) is. The performer also shares personal stories about their own period, or "period problems", as well as seeing doctors for a diagnosis of endometriosis. There are songs, jokes, stories and art projected in the background throughout.
