The Naked Philosopher
The Naked Philosopher presents a one-woman philosophy lesson told through the art of burlesque. Created, written, and performed by internationally-acclaimed, award-winning Canadian burlesque performer Violette Coquette, this particular philosophy lesson looks at the pleasures of art, extravagant gift giving, and how the art form of burlesque might save us all.
Be forewarned – there is no “fourth wall”! Guests are expected to be delightfully engaged in the show by cheering, philosophizing (and possibly helping Violette remove a glove).
Please note: Burlesque is the “art of the striptease.” This is strictly an 18+ burlesque show meant for adult audiences only.
Finding the venue: this show takes place on Lunar/Boxer’s intimate (small) outdoor rooftop patio. Venue entrance is on Fringe grounds in the alley just off 83 Avenue (opposite the Old Strathcona Farmers Market). There will be a sandwich board in the alley, and a volunteer to greet you at the door. If the weather does not allow for a rooftop show, the show will be moved indoors to Boxer Bar.
