GORE (I WANT TO DISAPPEAR) is an adaptation of the Greek tragedy THE ORESTEIA by the playwright Aiskolys. King Agamemnon kills the goddess Artemis' stag and is forced to make a sacrifice. His family, Iphigenia, Orestes, Electra, and Klytemnestra, are forced to deal with the devastating consequences. Individually and together, they must decide if/how they will let this tragedy define them. Some parts of the play are staged naturalistically (how they might look in real life) with others staged more abstractly (using dance and projections). The actors operate much of the tech from onstage, including lights, video (projections), and sound. The play explores the subjects of war, violence, complicity and love.
