The Importance of Being Haunted
A plausibly authentic vaudeville ghost show.
Step into a world of theatrical spectacles, and potentially supernatural ones. Straight out of the vaudevillian tradition of humbuggery, Dr. Silkini leads a show that is equally seance and slapstick. But is any of it real? Can you contact a ghost, if you don't believe in ghosts? Tap once for yes.
WINNER: BEST ALT VENUE COMEDY, BOSTON FRINGE 2026

This is a one-person clown ghost show. The performer wears a fake moustache and pretends to be a spiritualist who can talk to the dead. The show looks like an old-fashioned vaudeville performance from the 1920-1940's.
The performer sings songs, does dances, and performs other acts including magic. She invites audience members to take part. Some bits are silly and campy, the show is mostly funny. But the show also asks a serious question: can you feel close to someone who has died if you don't believe in ghosts?
This show mixes comedy with real feelings about grief and loss. It won Best Alternative Venue Comedy at the Boston Fringe Festival.
The show contains some audience interaction. It talks about death and grief in a thoughtful way.
