Side Effects
In a town obsessed with pets and sheltered from reality, neurogeneticist Haven is haunted by the Huntington’s gene that destroyed her family. In her quest for a cure, she leaves behind computer simulations for live animal testing. A sharp, darkly comedic musical about science, survival, and the high cost of a cure.
Side Effects is about Haven who lives in a strange town where people love pets and ignore real problems. Haven is a scientist who studies diseases. Huntington’s disease (a serious brain illness) runs in her family. Haven is afraid she will get sick too. She tries to find a cure by testing animals. This show is a dark comedy and a musical.
