What if they lied? What if being a crazy cat lady is AMAZING? Like a modern-day Carol Burnett on acid, Candy Roberts spins hilarious misadventures of a Gen-X childhood survivor. From freeze, fawn & flee, to fuck-you, an autobiographical comedy about the pursuit of becoming a dangerous old woman.

True stories told through stand-up comedy, storytelling and clown about growing up unsupervised in the 70s and 80s in a small town in BC. Let's forget about aging out of expectations. Queenage Wasteland reimagines a culture where young folks can look forward to silver hair, wisdom and peace.

Queenage Wasteland is a comedy by award-winning Canadian theatre artist Candy Roberts. Using storytelling, stand-up comedy, clowning, and live music, Candy shares funny and heartfelt stories about growing up in a small BC town during the 1970s and 1980s.

As she looks back on a childhood spent trying to be a good girl, Candy begins to see her past in a new way. With humour and honesty, she explores aging, gender expectations, healing, and the freedom that comes from accepting yourself.

Filled with laughter, unforgettable characters, and music, Queenage Wasteland is a joyful celebration of growing older, letting go of the past, and becoming the boldest version of yourself.
