MADHOUSE: Stitched Perfection
A Frankenstein Creation
What happens when the pursuit of perfection creates something that refuses to be controlled?
Inspired by the timeless story of Frankenstein, Wild Ones Dance presents MADHOUSE: Stitched Perfection, an original dance production exploring perfectionism, identity, control, and the freedom to move beyond the expectations placed upon us.
This story follows The Creator, a brilliant but deeply self-critical artist who has lost the joy of dance in their relentless pursuit of perfection. Never believing they were good enough, The Creator sets out to accomplish the impossible: build the "perfect dancer" by stitching together the greatest qualities and talents of others.
And it works.
The Creation is technically gifted, expressive and seemingly flawless, everything The Creator believes they could never be. But bringing perfection to life is one thing. Controlling it is another.
As The Creator attempts to shape every movement, every choice, and every detail of their masterpiece, something unexpected begins to emerge. The Creation starts to think, feel, and move for themselves… and the stitches begin to unravel.
Blending theatrical storytelling with dynamic choreography, this haunting reimagining of a classic tale follows a journey where control collides with individuality, and the pursuit of being flawless threatens to destroy the very joy that inspired the creation in the first place.
Perfection was the goal. What comes to life is something entirely different.
